Tucked on 28 acres at the far reaches of St. Croix's north shore, Renaissance St. Croix Carambola Beach Resort & Spa at Davis Bay was created to celebrate the unspoiled beauty of the Caribbean by Laurance Rockefeller in 1986. The Renaissance St. Croix Carambola Beach Resort & Spa offers a full spectrum of activities and services. During your visit, get into the vacation groove by enjoying the 1000 feet of white-sand beach, the free-form swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness center, four tennis courts, volleyball court, and a golf course. There are three restaurants on the property. The red roofs reflect St Croix's Danish heritage.

We had an amazing time at the Carambola and in St Croix!!! Everyone was so nice and it seemed at times as if we had the whole island to ourselves. You will want to rent a jeep and explore the area and have to hike to the tidal pools!
It is so beautiful and relaxing that we are coming back to have our wedding there next year!
We had 3 power outages out of 6 days there and received no compensation. There is only one restaurant and bar on the property and they don't even have a Tiki bar by the beach/pool. Very disappointed as there was no variety of restaurants.
The beach is nice but has no service for drinks/food. We had no towels on some days and the hotel told us they are in the washing machine. Service was terrible. I would not recommend this property.
When we complained to the manager he seemed totally disinterested and told us he would get back to us and never did. The only person who was very helpful was Pearl at the front desk.
We love the resort and the laid-back atmosphere of the island.
This time we stayed for 12days.
The Caribbean views are spectacular.
A very relaxing vacation.
We recommend a jeep to see the island with the sides off.
Service at the hotel is polite and welcoming.
Natives are friendly and helpful. Wonderful vacation. We were joined by friends. Take your own group and make your memories.
The resort was pristine and the staff was impecable; high level of service. Unfortunately there was only one resturant open as it was not in season. The menu was exactly the same every day. The pool and beach were well kept as was the room.
This is not a good option for travelers who are not couples as the rooms all have one king size bed; no doubles available, however ther are very uncomfortable sofabeds. Who wants to open and close a sofabed every day.
The resort is also very isolated as it is at the utmost northwest corner of the island. We made the best of it as we were there just for some R & R.

We went 1st week of April and the weather was FABULOUS. Sunny and beautiful every single day. Last year we went 1st week of March and it rained the entire week. Rainy season is supposed to be november - february, but I quess you can never be sure! May should be excellent weather.

I just got back, and I loved the warmth. It wasn't humid, just very comfortable 80's range. There was bright sun one day, and then perhaps over cast the next. It did rain a few times, but it would break at points and we were still able to go in the pool and ocean. I thought there was a nice balance of sun beating down days and overcast days; didn't get sun burnt and again it was still pleasantly warm.

Went in early June and it was very nice. Highs in the hi 80's, lows in the low 70's. Minimal rain

Room Information
The resort offers 151 guestrooms in 27 two-story cottage-like buildings clad in cream-colored wood and pitched, red-steel roofs and surrounded by trees and dense flowering gardens. Red roofs shelter spacious cottage-style villa suites with terracotta tile floors and dark woods accent the rich mahongany furnishings. Each room is equipped with a large stand-up shower, TV with cable, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and in-room safe. In addition to all room amenities, Luxury Suites are also equipped with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, stove, dishwasher, flat-screen plasma TV with cable.
Nearby hammocks swing from trees at the sugar sand beach. You will find rocking chairs in every room look like they came straight from one of the old sugar plantations that thrived in St. Croix's agrarian heyday. Planter-style ceiling fans create a cooling breeze if you're a fresh air aficionado. Not all rooms are near the beach, although it's a quick stroll to the sand. A screened porch with built-in couches in every one of the rooms and spacious beachfront public patios provide perfect spots for entertaining the upscale guests you're likely to meet at this resort.
It is nice to be able to walk in the foot steps of Laurance Rockefeller while at the same time enoy the breath taking views from the property and the secluded beach.
What We'd Change
It is a 40 min drive to the island's Casino at the Divi Carina bay, but part of the attraction of this propety is being isolated. You will probably want to get a car for some of the time to see the island.
Why You Should Go
If you are looking for a beautifiul beach, amazing views and want to play some golf, this is paradise. Perfect for couples.
