Horrible ...just the worst experience
I reviewed this on their website too. everything went wrong because the staff is clueless and the hotel rooms where we stayed were outdated and just extremely badly maintained. Sure they promise a jacuzzi on the balcony but i didnt dare to enter it or my wife.
The jacuzzi has the water in it from every visitor there as there is no way to drain it and refill it ...so total waste unless you want some rash or dissease on you.
rooms were just horrible, cold and dirty even after being cleaned. the rattan furniture had the paint coming off of it. I expected the hotel promised not the motel that is Sapphire. What a deceptive name and chain. DONT GO! pick the next cheapest alternative ...it cant be this bad.
And we did love st. maartin, so its not the island is the hotel.
The hotel was terrific, and room very comfortable and airy. The hotel staff was great. The pool-side bar had wonderful happy hour specials. There wasn't much of a beach at the hotel itself, but it was only a short ride/walk to great beaches and restaurants. We had a wonderful time in St. Martin and would go back in a heartbeat if there weren't so many other wonderful islands to explore in the Caribbean. Our favorite place is still Old San Juan.....Cheers, C-D

St Maarten
I love the island, have been going there for years. I don't mind staying at Sapphire Beach Resort because we really don't spend much time there, there are so many beaches and much shopping, and the food in the restaurants is great. So Sapphire is a place to rest our heads. If they would only stop with the French TV and tune into American TV, that would be great, as all the other places have American TV service. We keep returning to the island because we love it there.
Female receptionist staff has very BAD ATTITUDE, judgmental, unfriendly and MEAN person. I have nothing nice to say about this lady. The only two nice person in that hotel is the young male receptionist and the older gentlemen in the rent a car. The HOUSE KEEPING personnel USES your room to watch TV , VIDEO and warm up their lunch.

Are there any AA meetings in the area?1 answer
I am a recovering alchoholic and my sister is scheduling her wedding at your resort in January 2013. I want to go but I also would like to know if there are any Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in the area. Thank you!
