Very nice trip
We found it to every thing it was advertised to be. We enjoyed being at the "quieter" Sian Ka'an then the others bit also did not have as much night life or resturant choices. The transportation between the resorts did allow for visiting the other three.
One draw back that I mentioned to the front desk is the lack of stair rails. We were one the third floor in a penthouse and made numerous trips up the stairs every day. With a bad knee this got to be a challenge but we found our room was worth it. We had a small AC problem in the one unit and maintenance did everything they could but it continued. The other AC kept the room adequate.
The service was great, one should bring about $100-150 in ones for tipping, which is much appreciated by the wait staff, bellboys, and room staff.
All in all, very good. We'd come back again.
We arrived on time last Sunday eve. and found our room to be just as advertised.
One thing I suggested to management is they should install handrails. We were on the third floor in a penthouse and many trips up the three flights of stairs with a bad knee. Older people would have a tough time since there are no elavators. The one AC in our unit kept acting up but the other one was enough to keep it cool and maintenance did there best to get it fixed.
We found our beach to be very nice but did not do much exploring at the other areas, resturants or shows. Maybe next time. It was very much All-Inclusive but I would suggest bringing about $150 in ones for all the tipping as the service was very good and tips are apppreciated.
Our ground transportation was on time but it is a bit of a drive from Cancun, about 70 km. but worth it to get away from the busy sites further north.
Would sure go back again and this was our first time at an All-Inclusive and that is the way to go.
The Sian Ka'an was very quite, the service was extra friendly and accomadation great.
Scenery beatiful as it was more of a jungle, vegitative setting then beach.
I recently stayed at the Sian Ka'an Grand Bahia Principe resort. It was a beautiful resort. We were getting slightly concerned driving down from cancun because the shuttle was stopping at some really unappealing resorts, but then we got to the Sian Ka'an and it was beautiful. the Grand Bahia Principe has 4 sub-resorts, and the Sian Ka'an was across the highway from the beach, set apart from the other 3 sub-resorts. The other 3 were nice, but i did think the Sian Ka'an was the best. We found out it had just stopped construction in December, 2011, so it really was brand new. The grounds were really lush, the landscaping was beautiful. And the indifidual building units were much nicer from the outside than the other 3 sub-resorts.
To get to the beach (because we were across the highway from the rest of the resort and beach) we took a quick 2 minute trolley ride over the resort's private bridge over the highway and got dropped off to the Sian Ka'an's private beach area.
The wait staff everywhere (lobby bar, beach bar, pool bar, dinner restaurants, buffets) were very attentive and would ask you quickly if you'd like anything and return quickly with your request.
I think the only downside (and not that it was even that bad) were the buffets. we would eat at a buffet for breakfast and lunch. The breakfast buffet was GREAT!, but the lunch buffet was ok (but again, that's not even that bad of a complaint!). Dinner's were amazing. There's about 12 gourmet restaurants all over the resort. We had to schedule our dining the first night because reservations would fill up quick. They have everything from classic mexican to a japanese steakhouse to french/mediterranean/italian.
Overall, i would definitely stay at a Grand Bahia Principe resort again. it was a wonderful experience and we'd recommend this resort to anyone.
Oh, and we used Olympus Tours via Cheap Carribean to get to the resort from the airport and it worked perfectly, driving down, and back again.
It was an excellent vacation! We had access to the other Bahia Principe resorts which were very nice, but glad that we were at Sian Ka'an. We had excellent service and made friends with a lot of the workers there. I think our resort was had the friendliest staff and guests. There was live music every night and even the performers were friendly! The buffets were magnificent. We liked them better than the gormet restaurant choices. We would definitely go back! And hopefully soon!

Hello,
I am interested in this resort, but cannot seem to place it on a map to determine proximity to its sister resorts. I am looking to use the beach as part of the all inclusive package and would like to know how far this resort is from the beach?

George
According to Gran Bahia Principe's website, it takes 15 minutes to get to the Gran Bahía Príncipe Riviera Maya Resort Complex.
MariaCC
The Sian Kaan has a shuttle to its beach on the other side of the road. The properties have a bridge over the highway which provide access to the properties.
RonMexico
The beach is a 5 minute shuttle ride from the resort.
ChicagoMilligans
This resort is across the Highway from the other resorts. It is a 10 minute tram ride from the beach. The Sian Ka'an beach is exclusive with a bar and service on the beach. There were always chairs available when we were there (last week).
Faeriesmom
The resort is not located on the beach. You need to use their trollies to get between the resorts and beach. The trollies come every 5 minutes. It was no problem to get around at all.
andreaj22
It is across the main highway, but the carts take you to the beach in 5 minutes or so from the lobby of Sian Kaan.
Cajo
Beach to resort is not an issue as the cart pick you up every 5 min to go to the beach
Anonymous
the resort is about 15 min south of Puerto Aventuras in Chetumal.
1 hr 15 min from Cancun airport. The resort is located on the golf course. The hotel provides a golf cart transfer to their private beach across the road. It takes about 10 mins on the transfer. I personally think it is the best resort out of the 4 offered. You don't even miss being directly on the water!
GOLFERGIRL
You get a golf cart but it take about a minute to get there. They pick you up every 5 minutes. Muc nicer thatn the other resolrt that are right on the beach

matts
Hi Matts,
The price on your package is determined by the cost of your airfare from your particular airport, on the day you book your trip for your travel dates. The prices are subject to change due primarily due to the constantly fluctuating price of airfare. The only way to determine the actual pricing on your trip would be to process through a booking on our website, selecting your airport, number of passengers, etc. On the page that lists the excursions/transfers which are available for purchase you will see a blue border on the bottom of the page. Within that border is a small area where you would add the applicable promo code. When you go to the next page, the total price of the package will be displayed. Good luck and thank you for considering CheapCaribbean for your vacation travel!

The information we received from the resort is incorrect. We are confirming the square feet of each room category with the resort and will update our website accordingly. Thank you!
MariaCC
We had the junior suite (the smallest available and it was larger than that. For two people, we had plenty of room. You won't want to be in your room much, anyway.
ChicagoMilligans
The room I was in was about 200 square feet.
andreaj22
NO, they are an adequate size
Anonymous
The room was about 300 sq. ft. It was a second floor with balcony.
The bath was probably7x9, the sitting area 10x12, the sleeping area

How much per person to take a golf cart?

Montazuma007
Per the resort's website, golf car rental is approximately 230 USD. Please do keep in mind that this is just a quoted price and can change at any time.
MariaCC
$80 per person. I heard someone say this to someone else after they played the course.
RonMexico
No green fees, but for 9 holes, the cart fee is $35 a person. It was more expensive for 18, but I don't remember that price. We brought our clubs but ended up not golfing at all.
ChicagoMilligans
I believe cart rental is $80. per person.
Faeriesmom
I did not golf, but was told by a fellow who did that it was $80/person to rent and was required.
Anonymous
80 dollars for cart in morning, 65 in afternoon. Club rental 45. Food and drink is extra at club, not all inclusive.
moosemanic
Total is cost us for the free golf, $250 for 2 people which included rental cllubs. However, it was the funnest and scenic golf course I've ever played.
