Gamboa Rainforest Resort
Beautiful Location, front staff and travel staff are 5 star, the free trips are well lead and interesting, tram and monkey island are great cost is in line with experence. But house keeping needs a lot of work. Towel and daily housekeeping spotty. We had to call desk almost daily. If you stay in a Jr. suite, and I recomend this. Make sure the connecting room stays empty, walls very thin and just talking is overheard. View is great. Food is a solid 3 star. Breakfast buffet is above average, lunch is great at the River resturant. One problem is that the resort is so far from anything else that 4 days is Ok more you can run out of things to do. Canal trip is about 20 minutes away. Pool a solid 5 star, grounds also

Memphis, Tn
If you book a package, which includes flights and the all inclusive resort, the price would reflect however many days you choose. To get an accurate pricing you do need to select your dates of travel -and keep in mind that you are generally able to add days to that package if you wanted to book a longer vacation- select the number af travelers and the airport you will be departing from. The pricing reflected on the website is based on specific dates, departing from MIA or FLL. The airfare fluctuates, thereby changing your pricing, depending on when and you travel and where you depart from.

As this resort is located in the rainforest, while there are many nature parks, hiking areas, etc around the resort, there is not a lot of nightlife surrounding the property.

Gamboa Rainforest Resort
Zona 5 Gamboa, Soberania National Park, Colon, Panama

Hotel Description
The Gamboa Rainforest Resort is located on the Panama Canal, in the heart of Panamanian rainforest, approximately 35 minutes away from Panama City on the Pacific Coast, and 30 minutes from the Colon Free Zone**(see notes on the Colon Free Zone below) on the Caribbean. It is within the Soberania National Park, and lies along the banks of the Chagres River and Gatun Lake, the main water sources for the Panama Canal and part of Panama's most precious assets. The resort has been carefully designed to provide a variety of educational and adventure experiences.
The Soberania National Park is a tropical rainforest where a vast diversity of flora, mammals, birds, insects and reptiles coexist in one of the world's most complete ecosystems. To help you better understand the complexity of this remarkable ecosystem, we have created several exhibits to showcase the vast diversity of the rainforest's flora and fauna. Strolling along the pathways and trails located throughout the resort, you'll discover a variety of educational exhibits, each one designed to explain a different element of the rainforest.
Visit the freshwater fish aquarium, orchid and botanical gardens, butterfly nursery, turtle and iguana nesting areas, a reptile exhibit, historical and cultural displays, or sign up for various nature and observation tours. For jogging and cycling our trails are especially designed to accommodate the fitness level and time requirements of our guests.
Recreational facilities at the resort include fitness center, tennis courts, kayak and pedal boat rentals, and jogging and cycling trails. Discover the secrets of the upper rainforest canopy with a ride on the Resort aerial tram. The spa features exercise equipment and aerobics with trained personal instructors and health treatments that range from massage and body wraps to hydro and aroma therapy, plus Jacuzzi, steam-room and a beauty salon offering manicures, pedicures, facials and much more. Gamboa is also the perfect setting for meditation and Tai-Chi classes.
For a bird's eye view of the Soberania National Park and Panama Canal, climb aboard the specially designed aerial tram and glide quietly through the rainforest canopy where you'll encounter plants and animals rarely seen by visitors on the ground. But your appreciation of this tropical environment doesn't have to stop at the forest floor. The first class marina provides tours of the Chagres River and Lake Gatun, sport fishing trips for peacock bass and other exotic freshwater species (catch and release only), kayaking trips, and tours to the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute on Barro Colorado Island.
Colon Free Zone -- Colon is most famous for the "Free Zone". The Colon Free Zone is a major distribution center at the Atlantic gateway to the Panama Canal, primarily dedicated to the re-export of an enormous variety of merchandise to Latin America and the Caribbean. The success of the Colon Free Zone is reflected in the almost 1,000 acres and 1,800 established companies and 250,000 visitors a year. Most of the goods originate in the Far East and Europe. Tourists are allowed to shop duty free when presenting their passport.
