never again
Every year my family and I clebrate together for a week somewhere tropical - and all inclusive. We have LOVED the all inclusive resorts until this experience. I would never recommend this resort and can not beleive it was a Marriott property. The service was terrible. We checked in on Dec 23-there was no conciere in the hotel until our forth day- and then only was there for 4 hours. There was no sign for the conciere and we had to ask a few times before even finding her desk. Once we did find her - all she did was push a book in front of us- we had to pay a portion to her in CASH-they would not take my credit card-then pay the balance at the tour (which the tour informed us we had been over charged by the conciere and to get a refund from her) When the bus picked us up no one spoke to us or looked at our paper work to make sure we were on the correct bus. The hotel chose this week in their prime season to do maitanence- we had a note under our door that we might experience noise while they were cleaning and doing maintanence on the exterior of the hotel and the pool might be closed for the next day. All inclusive was very vague- we were told not everything was included in all inclusive but none of the employees seem to be aware what was or was not included. Instead of having wrist bands to identify us as all inclusive we had to wait for a check to bill to our room (service was soooo slow) Not many resturants were included. The buffet was always understaffed. Only one person to work the (morning) egg station- when they ran out of something no one was working it at all-the same was true in the evening when it became the pasta/carving area, one to none would be working it. Go to Breezes Resort instead !
Great location, wait staff, management &fun casino
Great location...HIGHLY recommend the all inclusive plan. All of the food on Curacao is imported. The prices will give you sticker shock...
Wait staff at hotel exceptional...we ate there every meal every day(could get boring)...they became family. They knew what we wanted to drink and where we wanted to be seated.... The call liquor selection was good, some premium upcharges but you could get almost any you wanted without a charge. Espresso bar, cappuccinos, frappucinos, snacks, sandwiches, muffins were all included. The beach is uniquely man made, the pool unique too but private enough, and relaxing. Not alot of hub bub, blaring radios or over-enthusiastic aerobics instructors or pool games....this is NOT a Club Med atmosphere. Relaxing...just what we wanted. The close proximity to the shopping (Renaissance Mall is just outside) and local vendors and attractions was great. Take a tour or rent a car if you want to see more of the beaches, etc. The casino was fun and basically broke even...so entertainment was NOT stacked against you. Lots of penny slots though....we had fun...would highly recommend! Would like to have had more entertainment inside the hotel, music or small combo at night or evenings would have been nice!
It was our first time to Curacao and we really liked it. The hotel was a great choice at a very convenient location. It had like a man made beach, which is like a natural infinity pool. It is on the second floor of the hotel and has sand, bar, enough space for sun bathing and to stay in shade. There is a sea water in this "beach" or infinity pool. Also, there is a small pool next to the beach area, also with a beautiful infinity view. We were on all inclusive plan, we liked the food, the main buffet - we went there for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes for dinner - had a great choice, lots of food, everything was very fresh. A lot of seafood, different meats, fish, great salads choice and grilling station when they prepare everything in front of you.
The location of the hotel is excellent, so 1-2 minutes away there is historical fort, where are lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and ice cream place. We went to seafood and steakhouse one evening - and really liked it. The restaurant was full and they had great service. The downtown area of Willemstad is like 5 minutes away, you just have to cross the bridge.
The only negative comment about the hotel is service - is it very slow and the front desk is not really helpful. It seems that they are not familiar with all inclusive or they don't get too many people all inclusive.

Room Information
237 rooms in a 4-story building. Most rooms feature a balcony. All are equipped with high speed internet connection, mini-fridge, coffee maker, complimentary coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, bathrobes, in-room safe, LCD television and a comfortable bathroom.
The location of this resort is amazing. On the ocean with a beach club but downtown at the same time.
The resort even has its own fort. At night there are many great restaurants overlooking the harbor with beautiful lights all around.
What We'd Change
It is not that easy to get to the island but it is an amazing place and totally worth the trouble.

Curacao is a Dutch Caribbean island where European style and history meets a tropical beach.
Unlike other islands where you have one long crowded beach Curacao features many different private coves with crystal clear water, white sand and palm trees. There is even one cove that is only accessible by boat. Honeymooners can reserve the boat to drop them off with a Champagne picnic lunch and prearrange a pick up time. It is a very romantic island.
