Bermuda off season
Fairmont Southampton is one of the grand old hotels-lovely in many respects, but in winter, unless you are a golfer or like to swim in the chilly Atlantic, the Fairmont in Hamilton is probably a better choice. The Hamilton location provides many more restaurant, nightlife and shopping choices and great access to local trandsportation--bus and water--for sightseeing.
Except for the pool and beach, you had to pay for every activity (fitness center, tennis, golf, snorkeling, internet access, indoor pool before 6 p.m.). We were lucky to have joined the President's Club (which was free) before we arrived, because we then were able to have free internet access in our room, free wi-fi in the lobby and use of the fitness center.
Our room was lovely and the view wonderful. The food was excellent. We also were on the meal plan which was great.
The hotel charged a resort fee but I have no idea what it was for, since almost all activities had a fee.
My wife & I went there for our 30th anniversary. Once they found out at the concierge, they pampered my wife & I. The night of our anniversary, they sent up a chilled bottle of champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries. They changed our room for a better view. The food & drinks were a little pricey, but hey I went to relax & enjoy. We are going to go back next May for their Queens Day. Loved it!

This was my fifth trip to the Southhampton Fairmont in the last 10 years. It feels like home when I get there. The staff members are friendly and well trained. The restaurants are excellent, especially the famous Waterlot Inn. I love the shuttle service to the lovely private beach which is only a short walk from beautiful Horseshoe Bay. There is also a free half hour ferry ride to ngo shopping in Hamilton. I will go back any chance that I get.

Jake--
The pool is part of the Spa/Wellness Center at the resort. If you go to the Fairmont Southamptons site, they do have their spa menu loaded and it looks as if they have a variety of options that would include access to the pool area. The resort does have a relationship with the Riddell's Bay Golf Course; however, I'm not sure the exact arrangement. I would check with the Concierge upon arrival; as well, they'll probably be able to arrange tee time for you as well. Have a wonderful time in Bermuda!

Jake,
You can down load the brochure on the spa for pricing. (Pricey) However they did offer some daily specials. The indoor pool is available for guest of the spa during the day then open from 6pm to 12. Didn't play any golf as it was very windy with the hurricane passing.

Honestly, we didn't do the spa. The indoor pool is for guests as well as the outdoor at no addl. charge. I will suggest to sign up for the Fairmount President's Club. It offers discounts to the spa, and the fitness center, and greens fees. The fitness center is $15.00 per visit, but free if you are a member of the President's Club. The greens fees were $99.00 per person (very expensive) at their golf course, but is $67.00 for sunset golfing. Incredible beautiful course I have ever seen.

Does Fairmont Southampton provide floating rafts at their pools?3 answers
Are floating rafts provided at the outdoor pool at Fairmont Southampton for use by the customers? If not, are customers permitted to bring their own for use?
Pam
We have confirmed with the resort that they do not provide floating rafts but do have noodles. They have also advised that guests are permitted to bring their own floating raft.
MariaCC
You can bring your own rafts.
trevordog
There were no rafts at the pool, the only thing that was provided were noodles. I honestly don't know if they would be permitted. They don't have lifeguards, so I think you should call the Fairmount.

Hotel Description
Perched royally on the island's highest point, The Fairmont Southampton overlooks lush acres of land, pink sandy beaches and bountiful gardens. Relax beneath a rainbow of umbrellas at the Beach Club, hit the links for a round of golf, grab your racket for a tennis match, snorkel your way around the reefs, ride the waves on a jet ski, explore the island on your scooter and enjoy our award-winning cuisine at six restaurants. Heated outdoor and indoor pools offer swimming and sunning alternatives to the 200-yard beach, which lies at the hill's foot.
Expansive grounds complement the panoramic ocean views visible from the resort's hilltop location. Complimentary trolley buses transport guests to the beach, golf course, and a waterside restaurant and water-sports cove, from where guests can catch a complimentary ferry to downtown Hamilton for shopping and dining. The resort's pink-sand beach runs beside a turquoise cove protected by offshore reef and rock formations. Lounge chairs offer sunning opportunities; umbrellas provide shade.
The hotel's 30,000-square-foot health-and-beauty spa offers a variety of relaxation and rejuvenation treatments. The resort's boat provides complimentary ferry service to a sister hotel located just 3 blocks from Hamilton's shopping and dining center.
The Fairmont Southampton's Golf Course has just been recognized by the Audubon International Society as a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary". They are the only course in Bermuda to have received this distinction, and are one of only 617 in the world to receive this honor. Also, all of the Fairmont guests now have Preferred Access to Riddell's Bay Golf Course. Riddell's Bay is Bermuda's oldest Private Golf Club with 18 holes and is a par 70.
